Evaluating Websites

The information you find in websites should be questioned more than that of any other resource.

• Search engines like Google or Bing do not evaluate websites for quality.

Remember the questions you should ask yourself to evaluate all information resources:

1. Is the information current?

2. Is the information credible?

3. Is the information accurate?

4. Is the information relevant to your needs?

5. Is the information useful?

6. Is the information free from bias?

• In most cases you will need to evaluate websites on your own. However, librarians are helping to evaluate and organize websites.
